The Florida A&M
University's School of Nursing is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor vacancy.
This position will be filled at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank depending on


professional nurse who has the concomitant responsibility for the coordination of learning activities, development of course content, and
assisting students in the teaching/learning process; Assists in the counseling and guidance of students, conducting theory classes and/or
clinical laboratory sessions as assigned; and academic and/or clinical experiences in pediatrics, community health, or psychiatric nursing
are desired.

Counsels students in accordance with the student's needs; Recognizes and informs Associate Dean of existing or
potential problems; Serves on School of Nursing committees and participates in committee activities as designated; and participates in
programs of self-development (workshops, seminars, clinical practice, research, symposia, conferences, classes, etc.).

students in applying nursing theories and principles to the practice of nursing; Conducts theory classes and/or supervises clinical
experiences as assigned; Assists in the preparation of tests and evaluation materials; Uses multiple and varied teaching methods; Keeps
students and the Associate Dean apprised of students'progress; Assists in the preparation and implementation of classroom and/or clinical
schedules; Reviews recommended media for utilization in the course; Evaluates effectiveness of the instruction on the basis of learner and
peer evaluations; Uses knowledge gained from evaluations in planning future learning experiences; and serves as a role model for students in
the professional, social, and civic arena.

Belongs to professional organizations; Belongs to civic organizations which promote
quality health care for all people; Serves as a nursing resource person for local health agencies when requested; Participates in the
overall academic affairs and programs of the total institution as indicated; Actively attempts to influence political decisions that affect
nursing on the local level; Assists in the designing, conducting, evaluating, and publishing research and/or studies relating to health care
and/or the nursing profession; Shares and utilizes investigational findings for the improvement of the teaching/learning process; and
contributes to professional writings and makes scholarly presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral Degree in
Nursing required or Doctoral Degree in associated field with Baccalaureate in Nursing and Master's Degree in Nursing.

Recommended Competencies

successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Critical thinking and problem solving
Ability to utilize the information gained from Canvas Analytics to enhance teaching and delivery of quantitative, production
management and supply chain
management courses;
Knowledge of tools to facilitate research, distance learning and program conferencing
opportunities in production and operations management;
Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with the School of Nursing
and Industry's internal and external stakeholders; and
Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the needs, problems, and
academic concerns of students.


This is a Faculty position.
