Overview
Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor (Endowment for Simulation and Innovation). This
is a full-time, continuing, tenure-track position.
The endowed professorship has faculty teaching and administrative responsibilities
for simulation and innovation within the undergraduate and graduate curriculums. As the Endowed Professor of the Zvart Onanian School of
Nursing Simulation Program, the candidate provides leadership, management, and ongoing evaluation of all simulation learning experiences
focusing on the current and emerging practice of simulation and implements robust methods of evaluation. The endowed professorship will
assure relevance and excellence in Simulation Student Learning Outcomes (SSLO) based upon the guidelines and standards of the International
Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).
The Zvart Onanian
School of Nursing at Rhode Island College offers undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The BSN, MSN, and DNP programs are fully
accredited by the Commissions on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The nursing programs partner with major health care agencies by the
State and surrounding area to provide excellent nursing education. BSN graduates consistently achieve high NCLEX-RN pass rates: rates well
above state and national averages. The student population is richly diverse: 42% report being minority, 12% are male and 25% are second
degree candidates.
Required qualifications:

Earned Doctoral Degree (PHD or DNP in Nursing).

Eligible for Rhode Island Registered Nurse license.

Demonstrated teaching excellence and innovation

Experience in mentoring peers, faculty, and students

Record of academic, professional, and community
service. -
Experience in Collegiate nursing education including simulation *Associate professor
additional qualifications:-
A minimum of seven years of college-level teaching experience at the Assistant Professor
level. -
Appropriate academic/professional experience, as approved by the Dean, the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs,
and the President, may be substituted for al or part of the years in rank. -
Demonstrated leadership in a higher
education or equivalent professional context. -
Evidence of success in curriculum or program development.
Preferred qualifications:- Experience in nursing education at the college level.
- Certified
Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). - Bilingual
Additional compensation: may be added for
terminal degree and teaching at the collegiate level or other relevant experience. Candidate will receive a Stipend on behalf of the
