Position Description

The Department of Nursing at Bloomsburg
University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track Maternal and Child Health Nursing faculty
position at the undergraduate level beginning Fall 2022 semester.  This position will have a focus in pediatric nursing.
 This is a unique opportunity for an expert clinician who desires continued education at the doctoral level, or an applicant already
prepared at the doctoral level. The Department of Nursing and Bloomsburg University recognize the need to mentor and support masters
prepared nurses moving into the academic setting while pursuing doctoral education.

About the Department: The
Department of Nursing offers outstanding CCNE accredited BSN, MSN, and DNP programs, as well as the only Nurse Anesthetist program in the PA
State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), which is offered in collaboration with Geisinger Health System.  The Department of Nursing boasts
high NCLEX pass rates and outstanding clinical experiences at all levels in partnership with regional health care
providers.

Examples of Duties

The Maternal and Child Health Nursing faculty position encompasses
classroom and clinical teaching for junior level students in the maternal and child health course. Instructional delivery can occur through
on-line, in-person, and blended instructional methods on the main campus or at off-site educational locations. Voluntary summer contracts
may be available.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service, and show
potential for a productive research/scholarship program. Professional development support is available to support ongoing research and to
obtain a doctoral degree.

The successful candidate will need to complete distance education training programs as made available by
the University within two years of hire for the purpose of teaching in a multi-campus environment with remote teaching
needs.

Qualifying Experience / Education

Required Qualifications
Earned Master of Science
in Nursing and a commitment to achieve doctoral degree prior to tenure decision. Strong academic background and clinical expertise in the
area of maternal and child health-pediatrics nursing practice areas.  A minimum of 1 year bedside experience in pediatric nursing required,
five years of bedside experience preferred.  Eligibility for PA RN licensure is required if a current PA license is not held.
  

Preferred Qualifications
Earned doctorate in nursing or related field and experience teaching maternal and
child health courses preferred. Scholarly activity in the form of research or professional service also preferred.
