Major/Essential Functions
Diagnose, treat and support patients with multiple organ dysfunction. Arrange for the provision of life support or organ support systems in patients who are critically ill. Hold administrative responsibilities for the intensive care unit. Facilitate and coordinate patient care among primary care physicians, critical care staff and other specialists. Take an active role in the supervision and medical education of residents and students in a critical care setting. Participate in scholarly activities including continuing medical education, research and publication.
Required Qualifications
* M.D. or D.O. or Foreign medical equivalent;
* Completion of three (3) year internal medicine residency;
* Completion of critical care/pulmonary care fellowship;
* Board Eligible in Critical Care or Pulmonary Care, and must be
eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License.
Preferred Qualifications
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to
the candidate's intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service
appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity

Pay Statement
