Position Summary

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Westminster College invites applications for a permanent full-time faculty/program director position at the assistant professor rank beginning in Fall 2022.  This is an 11-month position in the Master's in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) program.  Candidates must demonstrate experience in all components of the family nurse practitioner field as well as administrative and management skills.

We seek innovative, diverse, and proactive candidates with an excellent teaching record and ability to engage with students to enhance learning.  The successful candidate will demonstrate skills, experience, and potential to facilitate the learning of all students, including those historically underrepresented in higher education such as students of color, LGBTQIA students, students with disabilities, first-generation college students, and more.

Primary Responsibilities

The candidate will have expertise in the use of technology in the classroom and knowledge of graduate nursing curriculum and need for ongoing revision.  Teaching responsibilities include graduate nursing courses in the didactic setting and clinical student teaching and supervision in healthcare and community settings.

The teaching load for this position is a 32 semester workload that includes 4 hours of release time for the director component that occurs during fall, spring, and summer semesters.  Westminster's commitment to diversity and global learning is revealed in its core values, mission and vision statements and institutional priorities.

Required Qualifications

  •       A Ph.D. in nursing from a regionally accredited institution or a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) will be considered.  All nursing degrees must have been obtained from regionally accredited institutions in good standing at the time of graduation. 
  •       A current, unencumbered state of Utah nursing license, preferably an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with appropriate certification.
  •       Expertise in the use of technology in the classroom and knowledge of online didactic delivery.
