Position Summary |
Looking for a theory/lab instructor for Fall and Spring semester
|
Essential Responsibilities |
· Teach the assigned class, lab, and or clinical in accordance with the learning objectives and e-syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students
· Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments · Provide formative feedback and summative evaluation of student performance throughout the learning process which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessary · Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course related data · Use educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas) · Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results · Maintain currency in professional field · Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence |
Required Qualifications |
· Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices. General minimum qualifications include:
o Career and Technical Education classes: 2,000 or more hours work experience in the discipline and a bachelor's or other required degree or industry-related certification or licensure. · Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred · Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds · Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills · Registered Nurse with current IL license with a minimum of two years of nursing experience providing direct care · BS/BA in a health related field · Meets the instructor requirements of Section 395.235 of the Administrative Code · Current BLS CPR certification, CPR instructor preferred |
