The University of Kansas School of Nursing (SON) is known for its nationally ranked academic programs that prepare hundreds of students each year for successful nursing careers, as clinical nurses, advanced practice nurses, educators, leaders, administrators, scholars and researchers.

The school, begun in 1905 and located on the campus of the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) in Kansas City, Kansas, dedicates expertise and resources toward building healthy communities and advancing the nursing profession, through practice, research and education. Online classes are available for associate degree-prepared registered nurses interested in pursuing baccalaureate degrees, or for BSN-prepared nurses pursuing advanced degrees. KU School of Nursing is the only university in Kansas to offer a Ph.D. in nursing.

Ranked No. 21 in the National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded public nursing schools nationwide, the School of Nursing alumni and faculty are among the field's most accomplished leaders.
