Job Description Summary

Provide clinical data manager support to Data Coordinating Centers using Qualtrics or REDCap. Participates in the development and/or review of clinical research documents (eg. Data Collection/Security Protocols, Case Report Forms, and Statistical Reports). Provide SAS Programming support for data management and DSMB reports. Serve as the REDCap database developer within the School of Nursing for funded projects. Responsible for training research staff and students. Assisting the Principal investigator with developing REDCap/Qualtrics data entry systems. Run quality assurance checks on the data using SAS. Serve as the REDCap and Qualtrics technical support person within the School of Nursing(SON). Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Performs data analysis and assists with design of complex data models based upon business or research requirements. Often as part of a team, identifies and resolves required information flows and content issues, and transforms requirements into data designs and models. May perform analyses, development and evaluation on large databases and large complex installations. May provide reporting and decision support systems consultation. May provide data analysis expertise to one or more project or support teams. May work with vendor delivered solutions.

Job Description

Provide clinical data manager support to Data Coordinating Centers using Qualtrics or REDCap.

  • Participate in the development and/or review of clinical research documents (eg. Data Collection Protocols, Case Report Forms, and Basic Statistical Reports).
  • Develop clinical trial database (DB) specifications, including eCRF design, user requirements, edit rules/checks, query logic and data validations.
  • Work with ITS to test REDCap upgrades and clean and archive inactive projects.

Serve as the REDCap database developer within the School of Nursing for funded projects.

  • Responsible for training research staff and Nursing students.
  • Assisting the Principal investigator with developing REDCap/Qualtrics data entry systems.

Serve as the SAS, JMP, and Excel Programmer for funded projects.

  • Develop complex Excel and SAS macros for creating variables, cleaning, and preparing analytic datasets, reporting output, and quality assurance checks on the data.
  • Develop SAS macros to produce customized tables for manuscripts and DSMB meetings.
  • Generate Classification and Regression Trees using JMP for data science/machine learning.

Serve as the REDCap and Qualtrics technical support person within the School of Nursing.

  • Help create new accounts; move projects into production.
  • Provide orientations.
  • Provide workshops and seminars for SON Faculty and Staff.
  • Coordinate REDCap activities of BECCA Students and Temporary Workers.
  • Create action items and check completed tasks related to REDCap.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifies trends or patterns that result in data quality issues. Monitor administrative and financial data for accuracy, create audit reports. Make recommendations to improve systems design, data entry and processes to ensure accurate data. Develop reports, presentations as necessary
  • Work with center/department/ school leadership to identify and develop metrics for all aspects of School activities, transactional, strategic, and projections. Support the development of key metrics that may be used by the highest level leadership for strategic planning and budgeting
  • Develop dashboards to provide snapshots of key data. Disseminate reports and metrics to users
  • Development of new training materials
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Targeted Pay Range: $50,000.00 – $75,000.00

  • This Targeted Pay Range is only applicable to this job posting. All salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mathematics/Computer Science/Statistics/Biostatistics and 2 -3 years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    MS in Mathematics/Computer Science/Statistics/Biostatistics. 1-3 years of relevant programming experience is strongly preferred (SAS, SPSS, STATA, R). SAS programming skills required. Experience using Excel, REDCap, and Qualtrics preferred. Expertise in machine-learning analyses, JMP/Python/SPSS/SAS/STATA or R preferred. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills. Effective multi-tasking with a “can do” attitude, self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work within a strict deadline. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills. A critical thinker, intuitive about next steps, and will work proactively on projects both independently and collaboratively.
