Overview
The Glenville State University Dean of Health Sciences will be an administrative appointment that oversees all health science related academic programs and initiatives, including the creation of new programs, the approval and maintenance of accreditation for health science related-programs, and oversite of the faculty and staff supporting all health science related programs. The Dean of Health Sciences will be a direct report to the Provost and an integral member of the University’s academic leadership team.
Responsibilities
Oversee implementation of:
· College of Health Sciences
· Assist with the hiring of the faculty and staff for Health Science programs
· Oversee the pre-nursing curriculum and advise students in the pre-nursing program
· Maintain a good working relationship with Marshall University’s College of Health Sciences
· Innovate and support pathways and partnerships with community colleges
· Develop and implement and/or oversee the following academic programs:
o Nursing program
o Medical Laboratory Science program
o Wellness Management program
o Graduate program in counseling
o Graduate program in Social Work
o Major in Athletic Training
o Undergraduate major in Health Informatics or Health Information Management
Graduate concentration in Health Care Management
