Clinical Coordinator – Assitant Professor of Nursing (Instructional-Tenure Track)

Carroll University is seeking a Clinical Coordinator/Assistant Professor for the Department of Nursing. The Department of Nursing, in the College of Health Sciences, offers an Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing programs. Candidates who are innovative, detailed oriented, with good communication and collaboration skills, and value a dynamic and comprehensive approach to education are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the position include coordination of clinical placements across all programs, clinical course coordination for the Bachelor of Science Nursing Program, including making site visits to support faculty, students and staff at the agencies as needed. The person works closely with the Program Directors and Department Chairperson. The position also provides other opportunities for teaching based on the candidate's expertise. This position is a 10-month appointment.

Qualifications: MSN required. Preference will be given to applicants with broader clinical nursing experience and have a documented record of teaching and clinical expertise. Current Registered Nurse licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Wisconsin is required.

Rank and Salary: Clinical Assistant/ Associate Professor. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

The Program: The Nursing Department is approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing and accredited by CCNE. Since 2010, Carroll nursing graduates have an above average NCLEX RN pass rate of 95%-100%. The program utilizes a state of the art, 15,000 square foot, nursing simulation laboratory in the newly constructed Douglas N. and Nancy J. Hastad Hall which opened in January, 2018. The Department of Nursing has a strong record of private foundation support and federal grant funding through Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Health and Human Services (HHS). Current practicum affiliations include health systems in southeastern Wisconsin and community health agencies.

The College: The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through seven departments—Public Health, Athletic Training, Human Movement Sciences, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. Health sciences account for ~60% of the University enrollment. The mission of the College of Health Science is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. A dynamic and growing entity, College wide foci include interprofessional education and practice, the integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations. The new Carroll University Community Health Services building and partnership with the Waukesha Free Clinic, expands education and clinic opportunities for the College's graduate and undergraduate students. The College supports the interdisciplinary nature of health science education and has received federal and private foundation grant awards to support these as well as program specific initiatives.
