Clinical Instructor – Medical Surgical or Psychiatric Nursing (Part-Time)

POSITION: Part-Time Clinical Instructor – Medical Surgical or Psychiatric NursingSCHEDULE: Current Schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday's 7:00 am – 3:00 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare clinical assignments prior to clinical learning experience
  • Instruct and Supervise nursing students in the clinical setting
  • Instruct and Supervise nursing students with virtual clinical simulation to support the achievement of student learner outcomes when clinical agency is unavailable
  • Evaluate student learning assignments and provide constructive feedback
  • Complete formative and summative student evaluations
  • Communicate with Course Team Leader on a weekly basis regarding student issues
  • Perform other duties associated with the position.


Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.

  • MA Registered nurse license in good standing.
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Possesses a minimum of two (2) years full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five (5) years
  • Evidence of competence in clinical area of Medical Surgical Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
  • BLS Health Provider Level certification from AHA
  • Candidate must clear a 10-panel urine drug screen per clinical placement policy as a condition of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or enrolled in an MSN program
  • Previous clinical teaching experience
  • Experience with the use of patient simulation and technology
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population

BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.


Additional Information:

SALARY: $66/hour, Non-benefited position
